Bio: Brian W. Pogue, PhD is the John A. Pritzker Chair in Bioengineering at Dartmouth in Hanover NH USA, and faculty lead for the Dartmouth Innovation Accelerator for Cancer. He previously was chair of the Dept of Medical Physics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His work is in the area of invention or discovery of optical imaging tools that can be translated into guidance for cancer intervention. Specifically, in molecular guided surgery and visualization of x-ray induced light signals in tissue. His translational work led to co-founding of three start-ups, including DoseOptics LLC which has now commercialized the first system to allow direct visualization of radiation dose delivery to radiotherapy patients. The work has led to 14 issued patents and 28 pending, 600 peer-reviewed papers, and $52 million in NIH grant support. Dr Pogue is a Fellow of Optica, SPIE, the American Association of Physicists in Medicine, the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering and the US National Academy of Inventors.
